Family & Children’s Counseling Services is happy to welcome Virginia Powers as a Therapist Trainee!
Virginia is currently completing her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counselor at the University of Massachusetts Global. She is under the clinical supervision of Melinda Haynes, MA, LMFT 102308.
Virginia's background is in education, and throughout her teaching career she had the privilege of working with and advocating for underserved communities. These experiences have reinforced her desire to serve these marginalized communities as an MFT/PCC. Virginia's compassion and empathy, combined with being bilingual (Spanish), allows her to provide high support to those she serves.
As a therapist, Virginia is committed to providing clients with a personalized and collaborative therapeutic experience. Her objective is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space. Together, Virginia and her clients will create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and respect, where the client feels valued and supported.
In her free time, Virginia enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Cookie. She is a voracious reader and enjoys watching movies and TV shows.
Virginia will provide community-based services in San Francisco and will see clients via Telehealth throughout California.
