Heal Play Love University- Should I Offer a Free Therapy Consultation to Prospective Clients?
Should I Offer a Free Therapy Consultation to Prospective Clients. Should You Offer a Free Initial Consultation? #therapybootcamp Should therapists charge for the initial consultation? Did your therapist offer a free consult?
Relationship is (in my opinion) the most important aspect of the therapeutic relationship. If you don't feel safe and connected, how are you going to open up, consider alternatives or find healing? I've been that person who filled out all of the paperwork, paid the large fee... and then knew within minutes - probably seconds- that I wouldn't be coming back to this particular person.
There was no feeling of compassion, personality or whatever "it" factor matters when you think, "Oh, yes. I think I will give this person a chance." Sadly, most therapists offer a 15 minute phone consultation- at best. Some don't even offer that.
