Insurance companies and plans - and the coverage they offer- differ greatly. (Check for insurance we accept here.)
Each client is responsible for contacting their own insurance company to determine coverage, including deductible and co-pay amounts for the services they seek.
Some therapists at our office are Registered Associates in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in California. This means they are working toward licensure. Some insurance companies will not pay for services rendered by these providers. Please contact your insurance company for details.
Typically in these situations, the client pays for services, then receives a superbill from our office to present to their insurance company for possible reimbursement. We can not predict or determine what your particular insurance company or plan will cover, if anything.
Occasionally, an insurance company will offer an exception and provide full coverage for services when the provider is out of network (OON) and/or not fully licensed. They do this on a case-by-case basis. Please contact your insurance company regarding the reason why you would like an exception. Examples of reasons why may include: the provider's specific clinical focus and/or the lack of locally available in-network providers.
California Health & Wellness and the Victim's Compensation Board (Victim- Witness) are the only two insurance providers we have found that cover services rendered by Registered Associate Therapists. We can generally accept these two types of insurance with no complications.
If you have questions about coverage, please contact your insurance provider. Legal Notice Regarding Insurance and Fees It is the client's responsibility to find out if their insurance covers FCCS services, and to what extent. If you will be using insurance, please contact your insurance company to find out the details of your coverage and your financial responsibilities (eligibility, deductible, share of cost, co-payments, etc.).
If insurance is accepted to cover fees, an attempt will be made to bill and collect from the appropriate insurance provider. You are responsible for any co-payments.
Therapy hours are considered approx. 50 minutes. Please speak with your Provider regarding the specific time frame of individual sessions and/or overall treatment.
Phone consultations with you or approved others, the creation of reports, drive time, and Court appearances are billed at the same hourly fee. Contact for details.
Non-payment of fees will be subject to collection, including the use of a collection agency.
