Sasha Arevalo joined Family and Children’s Counseling Services in November 2019 as a Supervised Visitation Monitor.
Sasha brings a wealth of experience from working with families from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Originally from San Francisco, Sasha grew up in the multi-cultural environment the city is known for and easily relates to children and parents of all ethnicities.
Sasha has worked at after school and summer camp programs and has spent much time with special needs / multiple-handicapped students (ages 10 - 21) at a small, non-public school in San Francisco that her parents founded and operated. These experiences provided Sasha with insight, sensitivity and awareness regarding the issues that families of special needs children face. Sasha recently graduated from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She plans to earn her master’s degree in Counseling (Psychology), with a focus on helping children and teenagers in her future career as a licensed therapist.
Sasha currently works part-time at multiple elementary schools for their after-school programs through Chico Area Recreational and Parks District (CARD). When she is not working or studying, she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and watching movies and new shows.
