How to Apply- Family Monitor / Supervised Visitation Monitor

Family Monitor / Supervised Visitation Monitor

PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING:

This is NOT a babysitting job.  This is NOT an entry-way into working at a child day care facility. This is NOT (usually) cutesie-wootsie, easy-breezy, or lovie-dovie.

We work with families who are facing life difficulties and have been Court-Ordered to parenting time with a neutral third party observer.
We learn about (some) unpleasant life histories. We interact with (some) people who do not always use their best coping skills.  We have to (often) make decisions based on the laws related to the profession.

This role requires emotional maturity, healthy personal and professional boundaries, and an ability to work with stressful situations.  The selected candidate will work with custodial and noncustodial parents or guardians who are in conflict, have histories of substance use, domestic violence, child abuse, and/or mental health issues. The selected candidate will be able to both work independently and not take things personally (a.k.a. they "have thick skin" in the vernacular).

As a light-hearted (and not literal) illustrative description, think:
More Dog the Bounty Hunter and less Supernanny.

More Retired Marine and less Retired Therapist.
More Enforcer and less Group Hugger.
More Probation Officer and less Brownie Leader.

(We love Supernanny, Therapists, Group Huggers and Brownie Leaders- and will have other future openings for different positions.) We like to see a great fit between employee and role so that our employees are happy and comfortable in their work with us and to ensure that the job is done correctly.

The selected candidate has most likely achieved interpersonal differentiation, has an ability to set and enforce a boundary with confidence and is not easily frazzled by a client’s emotional state. This is not a personal preference by hiring managers at FCCS, but rather a skill set needed to be successful at this particular job.

Evening and/or weekend shifts are REQUIRED.  Please apply only if you can work at least two weekday afternoons or evenings AND every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).  We offer as much flexibility as we can, however, we must meet the scheduling needs of our clients.

We alternate weekends so that all employees get a chance to have time off for work-life balance.
