Therapist Trainee Master's Degree in Progress en español
Family & Children’s Counseling Services is happy to welcome Katie Servin as a Therapist Trainee!
Katie received her Associate’s Degree in Psychology from Sacramento City College in December of 2020. She then transferred to the University of California Riverside, and completed her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in the Spring of 2022.
Katie is currently a graduate student at Grand Canyon University pursuing her Master’s in Social Work. The hours worked with Family & Children’s Counseling Services, Inc. will go toward the completion of her degree.
Katie will spend her time at Family & Children's Counseling Services gaining client contact hours toward her degree and eventually toward her California licensure as a Clinical Social Worker. She is under the clinical supervision of Melinda Haynes, MA, LMFT 102308 and Erica Washington, MSW, ACSW 95523.
Katie is from Northern California, specifically Sacramento, where she lived most of her life. She moved to Southern California in 2020 after marrying her husband who enlisted in the military.
Katie has worked as a Behavioral Technician implementing behavioral interventions to children with developmental disorders. Katie also has experience working for a non-profit as a Victim Services Coordinator, and has worked with sexual assault survivors as well as domestic violence survivors. In this role, she would accompany those survivors to their forensic exams, assist with filing restraining orders, and would manage her clients' legal cases through the judicial system and law enforcement. Katie’s experience allows her to serve a diverse population!
Katie is best known for her work ethic and kind personality. She is also bilingual in Spanish and English, and is looking forward to working with anyone in need of genuine behavioral or mental support.
Katie will provide community-based services in Woodland and will see clients throughout California via Telehealth.
