September 2020- FCCS filed Amended Articles with the California Secretary of State, and was approved for non-profit status. Additional staff joined our team and we expanded services to Yuba, Sutter, Tehama and Sacramento Counties.
May 2020- FCCS acquired the neighboring office space, adding three more therapy rooms (bringing our total to seven), plus a lending library to better support our amazing clients.
April 2020- while sessions and visits were conducted online during the Covid-19 pandemic, staff were quietly busy converting the under-utilized classroom space into a multi-sensory environment (MSE) to aid in the healing and restoration of anxiety, ADHD, depression, the trauma-response, and to assist children who have indicators of ASD.
January 2020- having clearly outgrown its original space, FCCS moved to a multi-office suite on E. Lindo Avenue, and additional staff joined the growing team.
July 2019- FCCS hired its first Clinical staff, who expanded community-based services to the Oroville community.
July 2019- Administrative support was added to help us stay organized.
June 2019- FCCS expanded Supervised Visitation services to Redding, adding Supervised Visitation support staff in Shasta County.
March 2019- FCCS hired its first employee, a Supervised Visitation Provider.
January 2019- FCCS officially began providing therapeutic and supervised visitation services from a one-room, 200 square foot (walk-in closet sized) office at 572 Rio Lindo Avenue in Chico, California.
June 2018- Founder and licensed marriage & family therapist, Melinda Haynes, filed articles of incorporation in California, and Family & Children's Counseling Services, Inc., or FCCS (pronounced "fix" for short) was born!
