Abigail Mebrahtu joined Family & Children’s Counseling Services, Inc. in March 2020, and will be a Supervised Visitation Monitor.
Abigail, or Abby, as she prefers, was raised in Chico. She graduated from Butte Community College in 2008 with her Associate's Degree in Social and Behavioral Science. She went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from San Jose State University in 2012.
After college, Abby worked as a Drug, Alcohol & Mental Health Coordinator at a non-profit organization. When adventure called, she moved to Washington D.C and worked as an Academic Advisor at a Technical school for adults.
After returning to California she worked as the Northern California Outreach Coordinator for almost four years. Abby enjoyed working with people who where Hard of hearing, Deaf, Deaf-blind and/or have Speech difficulties.
After the devastating events in November 2018, Abby worked as a Disaster Case manager, helping Camp Fire survivors in their process of recovery.
Abby is a "full-time auntie" and loves spending time with her 11 year old nephew and 5 year old niece. She is a huge sports fan ("GO NINERS! GO LAKERS!") Her hobbies include photography and sports.
